FAQ

Frequently asked

Where do the rates come from?+

We pull daily rates from open.er-api.com, which aggregates central-bank feeds (ECB, Bank of England, RBI, etc.). Values are typically updated once per day.

Are these mid-market or retail rates?+

These are reference / mid-market rates. Banks and card networks typically add a 1–4% spread on top. Use these as a baseline, not the exact amount you'll be charged.

How often are rates refreshed?+

The API updates once daily. This app caches the response in your browser for 1 hour, so switching currencies is instant. Click Refresh to force a re-fetch.

Is my data or amount shared?+

No. Everything runs in your browser; only the rates JSON is fetched over HTTPS. Nothing about your conversions is logged or transmitted.

Which currencies are supported?+

Around 160 ISO 4217 currencies, covering every major country plus most emerging markets. If a currency you need is missing, it's likely because the underlying feed doesn't publish it.
