Which locks does this remove?+
Owner-password restrictions — the ones that block printing, copying or editing but still let you open the PDF. This covers the vast majority of "locked" PDFs.
What about user-password (open) protected PDFs?+
Those need the password to open at all — we don't attempt to crack it. Open the PDF in your reader with the password, then Print → Save as PDF to create a fresh, unlocked file.
Is this legal?+
Removing restrictions from PDFs you own is legal. Do not remove protections from PDFs you don't have the right to modify.
Is my file uploaded?+
No — decryption runs entirely in your browser via pdf-lib. Nothing leaves your device.
